Ford Truck Sales Hit Highest Level Since 2007

Sales of pickup trucks are often a sign of strength or weakness in the small business and construction sector as these types of businesses are the most common users of these vehicles.  With that in mind, today's sales numbers are an economic bright spot.  Even as the US Manufacturing sector saw its weakest month since June 2009, sales of Ford F-150 pickup trucks are on fire.  With sales of 72K units in May, total year to date sales of Ford F-150 trucks have totaled 299K.  At this pace, 2013 sales are up 22% versus last year, which is the highest rate of growth since 2010, and the highest total units since 2006.
