Best and Worst Performing S&P 500 Stocks QTD

The average S&P 500 stock is up 0.71% so far in the fourth quarter.  Below is a list of the 25 best and 25 worst performing stocks in the index quarter to date.  As shown, Apollo Group (APOL), Best Buy (BBY) and Advanced Micro (AMD) are down the most at -30%+, while Nextflix (NFLX), Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) and First Solar (FSLR) are up the most at more than +30%.  The biggest stock in the world, Apple (AAPL), is on the list of losers with a QTD decline of -20.19%, ranking it the 11th worst performing stock in the S&P 500 since the start of October.  This means there are 488 stocks in the index doing better than Apple this quarter.  Who would have thought back in September that we'd be looking at Apple on the list of worst performers and stocks like Netflix and First Solar on the list of best performers?
